Shop By Build Stage

Every AR-10 Part, In Build Order

An AR-10 comes together in the same sequence as an AR-15, with larger parts. Jump to the stage you are on.

01

Upper Receiver Group

Drop in a complete .308 upper, from the 10.5" billet pistol upper to 22" bolt-action style precision uppers, or build your own from a barrel, BCG, charging handle, handguard and gas system.

02

Trigger Group & Fire Control

AR-10 lowers use AR-15 pattern fire control, so the Texas-made Super Safety, drop-in forced reset triggers and mil-spec triggers install directly. Add anti-walk pins.

03

Lower, Buffer & Stock

Finish the lower with the mil-spec AR-10 LPK, set up the recoil system with an A2 rifle stock kit or a folding tube, and choose your grip.

04

Feed, Kits & Accessories

Magazines, build kits and the odds and ends that finish a .308.

AR-10 Anatomy

Upper Group vs. Lower Group

Same two halves as an AR-15, scaled for .308-length cartridges.

Upper

Upper Receiver Group

  • Upper receiver DPMS high or low profile, or Armalite pattern; not AR-15 compatible.
  • Barrel .308, 6.5 CM, .243, .22-250, .277 Fury or 8.6 BLK; 5/8x24 muzzle.
  • Bolt carrier group Longer .308 carrier; MPI-tested 9310 bolt.
  • Charging handle AR-10 length; AR-15 handles are too short.
  • Handguard Larger barrel nut thread than AR-15.
  • Gas system Carbine, mid or rifle; most blocks are .750 like AR-15.
Lower

Lower Receiver Group

  • Trigger group AR-15 pattern; Super Safety and FRTs fit.
  • Safety selector Same as AR-15.
  • Lower parts kit AR-15 fire control with .308 bolt catch and takedown pins.
  • Buffer system Rifle-length A2 tube or AR-10 carbine buffer.
  • Stock & grip AR-15 stocks fit a carbine tube; grips are identical.
  • Magazine SR-25 / DPMS pattern; not AR-15 compatible.

Choosing AR-10 Parts

Pattern is everything on an AR-10.

DPMS vs. Armalite

The two dominant patterns differ in upper receiver profile, handguard fit and some stock threads. Our uppers and barrels are DPMS pattern unless noted. Match the upper to your lower.

High vs. Low Profile

DPMS uppers come in high and low profile; the handguard must match the upper. Complete uppers here include the correct rail.

Caliber

.308 is the standard. 6.5 Creedmoor, .243 and .22-250 share the .308 bolt face. .277 Fury and 8.6 Blackout have their own listings and notes.

Fire Control

Any AR-15 trigger, including the Super Safety, fits an AR-10 lower with standard .154 pins. Older Armalite lowers with .170 pins are the exception.

Trigger Legality

Forced reset triggers and the Super Safety are semi-automatic fire control, but rules vary by state and change over time. ALLGOOPERATORS does not ship FRTs to CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, HI, IL, MD, MN, NJ, NV, NY, OR or RI. Confirm that any trigger is legal at your address before ordering and review the shipping restrictions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are AR-10 parts interchangeable with AR-15 parts?

Some are. Triggers, safety selectors, pistol grips, carbine stocks and most gas blocks cross over. Upper receivers, barrels, BCGs, charging handles, handguards, magazines and takedown pins do not.

  • What calibers do you carry for the AR-10?

.308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, .243 Winchester, .22-250, .277 Fury and 8.6 Blackout, in barrels and complete uppers.

  • What is a bolt-action style upper?

An AR-10 upper with a right-side bolt handle and no gas system, run as a manually cycled rifle on a standard AR-10 lower. We stock them in .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, .22-250 and .277 Fury.

  • Will the Super Safety work in my AR-10?

Yes. AR-10 and LR-308 lowers use AR-15 pattern fire control with .154 pins. Pair it with a buffer and spring matched to your carrier and add anti-walk pins.

  • Is a forced reset trigger legal in my state?

Legality varies by state and changes over time. ALLGOOPERATORS will not ship FRTs to CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, HI, IL, MD, MN, NJ, NV, NY, OR or RI. Confirm legality at your address and review our shipping restrictions before ordering.

  • Do AR-10 parts require an FFL?

Small parts, triggers, stocks and grips ship directly. Uppers, barrels and high-capacity magazines ship directly to most addresses; shipments to CA, WA, CT, NJ, New York City or Chicago require an FFL address. Review our shipping restrictions before ordering.
