AR-10 Buffer Kits, Buffer Tubes & A2 Stock Kits

A .308 carrier hits the buffer harder than anything on the AR-15. AllGoOperators stocks the AR-10 A2 Stock Kit with rifle buffer tube, rifle buffer and spring, and the folding 6-position buffer tube for Picatinny backplate builds, plus heavy buffers that keep a .308 forced reset trigger cycling clean.

Every AR-10 Buffer Part, Sorted

Fixed rifle systems, folding tubes, and the heavy buffers that tune them.

01

A2 Rifle Stock & Buffer Kit

The AR-10 A2 Stock Kit includes the A2 stock, rifle-length buffer tube, rifle buffer and spring. The rifle buffer system is the smoothest-cycling option on a 20" or 22" .308 and is what most precision AR-10 builders run. $99.99.

02

Folding Buffer Tube

The Folding 6-Position Buffer Tube mounts to any rifle or pistol with a Picatinny rear backplate and folds left. Impact-resistant polymer, mil-spec diameter. $49.99.

03

Heavy Buffers for FRT Builds

AR-10 carbine tubes use AR-15 length buffers with a shorter spring or a .308-specific buffer. The H3 5.2 oz and Odin Works HFRT 6.2 oz buffers add the mass a .308 forced reset trigger wants.

Buffer Anatomy

Rifle System vs. Carbine System

Two ways to absorb a .308 carrier.

Rifle

A2 Fixed System

  • Tube Rifle length; fixed A2 stock threads on.
  • Buffer Long rifle buffer, about 5.2 oz.
  • Spring Rifle-length spring.
  • Feel Longest travel, softest recoil impulse.
  • Best for 18" to 24" precision and hunting rifles.
Carbine

Adjustable System

  • Tube 6-position mil-spec or folding tube.
  • Buffer AR-15 length buffer with .308 spring, or a dedicated AR-10 carbine buffer.
  • Weight Heavier than a 5.56 carbine; H2 to HFRT range.
  • Feel Shorter travel; heavier buffer compensates.
  • Best for 10.5" to 18" carbines and pistols.
Before You Order

Choosing an AR-10 Buffer

Tube type, carrier length and trigger.

Tube Type

Rifle tubes take the A2 stock and rifle buffer. Carbine tubes take collapsible stocks and a shorter buffer with a .308-specific spring. Do not mix rifle buffers into carbine tubes.

Carrier Length

DPMS and Armalite carriers differ slightly in length, and some carbine builds need a spacer. Check your carrier's specs before buying a buffer.

Forced Reset Trigger

Go heavy. A .308 carrier arrives with enough energy that the H3 or HFRT is where a Super Safety runs cleanest. Under-weighted buffers cause bolt bounce and failure to reset.

Picatinny Backplate

The folding tube is for receivers with a rear Picatinny plate, not for threaded AR-10 receivers.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is in the AR-10 A2 stock kit?

The A2 fixed stock, rifle-length buffer tube, rifle buffer and rifle spring. Everything to complete a fixed-stock .308 lower.

  • Can I use an AR-15 buffer in an AR-10 carbine tube?

In many DPMS-pattern carbine builds, yes, with a .308-specific spring and a heavier buffer weight. Check your carrier length; some builds need a spacer.

  • What buffer weight does a .308 forced reset trigger need?

Heavier than a 5.56. The H3 at 5.2 oz is the minimum we recommend; the Odin Works HFRT at 6.2 oz with its flat wire spring is purpose-built for FRT and Super Safety use.

  • What does the folding buffer tube fit?

Any rifle or pistol with a Picatinny rear backplate. It folds to the left and adjusts through six positions.

  • Do buffer parts require an FFL?

No. These are small parts and accessories that ship directly to you in all 50 states with no FFL required.
